Written by Swiss dramatist Frederich Duerrenmatt, The Visit is best described as a tragic comedy. It tells the story of a young former resident of the small town of Gullen who once banished, ultimately returns to seek revenge on the man responsible for her banishment. The play opened at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry on the 6^th October 1970 with Jeff proving an imposing Inspector.
